P is for Pace Yourself!

This is our very first post on Wild Peas and I think it’s a good starting point. We have many projects lined up, plus past projects to review, and it’s going to take some time and effort to get everything uploaded and ready to go. We’ve only just begun and I’m already hitting the edit button to re-evaluate our about us page several times over…and I thought Jerry was the perfectionist?! Maybe this is just the procrastinista (yes, my word) in me trying to find a good reason to delay all of the work I’ve laid out ahead of us. Either way, we are pacing ourselves. In the meantime, here is a bit of what is to come:

Projects Past: Projects we have not only attempted, but tackled.  This could be anything from painting murals in the kid’s playroom, to planning some pretty crafty birthday parties. Obviously we won’t have as-you-go details, but I will show finished product with all the great details on how they came to be.

(Re)Purpose: See what I did there?  It’s a P, right?  Regardless, it’s awesome. I’m in love with repurposing. Probably because I’m a pack-rat (recovering I believe), but I hate to throw something out if it can be used again for something even cooler. I must be doing fairly well, because we get many compliments and interest in our repurposed items from house guests. Or maybe they’re just being nice… You can decide for yourself when I share some of the repurposed items we have and how they were created.

Projects Present: As you may have guessed, this is what is on our to-do list. Some are immediate time-frame, some are long off, but if they are on here then we are doing it darn it…or this blog is useless.

Personality: Things filed under this category are basically our way to note the daily P’s (or weekly, monthly…we’ll see how we do); random thoughts or occurrences that we want to remember or share.  For example:

P is for…proper.

I’ve noticed since thinking about and typing up this little blog that my grammar rules are a-changing. Why is that? Why is it all of a sudden okay to use improper English and bad punctuation? Is this acceptable in the blog world? I find it strange that I can correct my children, husband, parents, friends and co-workers when they end a sentence with “at” or forget to capitalize something in email; yet, I am publicly posting grammar garbage online to be viewed by, well, anyone. And, why, oh why, do I keep starting sentences with “And”…and “But”?  Please forgive me.  I know not why I do it.  And I seemingly care not why I do it…  Apologies if you do…  But I’m gonna do it.

So, there it is. There is the layout. The start. The attempt goal.  I’m looking forward to sticking with this and getting some stuff done. Let’s see if we can keep on and keep up. I hope you stay tuned, and give us time to get this going and get it going right, so that it is organized, informative, and fun!  I hope too, that maybe if you have a daunting-ly huge laundry list of ideas, projects, or goals like us, you will also feel inspired to tackle them – one baby step at a time.  Let’s inspire each other.

Because P is for pace yourself.
